Ratchaburi means “the land of the king”
and dates back to ancient times and old kingdoms.
As in all of Thailand, the scenery is most diverse and picturesque. The central area is rich in wetlands, the west is mountainous and about 38% of the province is forest. Minerals such as tin, tantalum, feldspar, quartz, limestone and marlstone are abundant.
Ratchaburi is home to the famous Floating Markets of Damnoen Saduak, a popular tourist spot. It shows the people’s lifestyle and the importance of the river as a means of commerce. Vendors paddle their boats up and down the waterways, selling and bartering their merchandise. Each day markets start in the very early morning and end at 11:00am.
The province also boasts ancient temples, monasteries with murals over 200 years old, a hot mineral stream and an impressive Nine-Level Waterfall, aptly named because the water cascades from the ninth level down to the central valley of a steep cliff.
It is our philosophy to do what we can to benefit humanity and nature. Our choices of charitable contributions are based on our belief that we should help one another.
